Q. What is mudjacking?
A. Mudjacking is the process used to raise sunken concrete. Holes are drilled into the surface of the concrete and then a grout mixture of clay, sand, cement, and water is pumped underneath the concrete using hydraulic pressure.
Q. What can be mudjacked?
A. Any sunken concrete can be lifted. We raise sidewalks, driveways, garage floors, patios, factory and office floors, streets, and runways.
Q. What is void filling?
A. Void filling uses the same process as lifting concrete. A grout mixture is pumped under the cement into voids left under a fixed slab through soil erosion and settled or washed out base work. Void filling helps prevent sinking and cracking of hollowed cement.
Q. How do I get a quote?
A. You can request a quote by filling in our “Quote Request” form or by calling our office at 780-460-5438.
Q. Is there a charge for a quote?
A. No. We provide free quotes.
Q. Do I need to be home?
A. It is only necessary to be present if the area in question is an interior location, or in a locked structure or yard.
Q. Is there a warranty?
A. Yes. If the concrete slab(s) sink(s) more than ¼” within two years of performing the work, Lifting Level Concrete Solutions will come out and rework the settled slabs using the holes previously drilled. Full warranty details are printed on the back side of the estimate.
Q. Do you accept credit cards?
A. Yes. We accept Visa, Master Card, Interac, cash and cheques.
Q. What are the terms of payment?
A. Payment is expected at the time of job completion.
Q. How do I accept and schedule a proposal?
A. After you have reviewed your quote and decide you want the work done please call our office at 780-460-5438 and we will schedule your job. We will also arrange to receive your signed and dated acceptance form; you can send it to us via mail, fax us at 780-460-8513, e-mail us at liftinglevel@shaw.ca, or we can arrange to pick it up at the time of job.
Q. How do I schedule my work?
A. Once we receive your signed acceptance, we will contact you to schedule your work.
Q. Do I need to be present when the job is being done?
A. Generally speaking, you don’t, so long as the work being done is outside. However, if work is being done on an interior location like a garage floor, or in a locked yard, then an adult over the age of 18 is required to be present. PLEASE NOTE: In order to clean the surface of the cement, once the job is complete, we will need access to an exterior water spigot. Thank you.
Q. Do I need to send a deposit?
A. No. Payment is not required until all work is completed.
Q. When can the mudjacking be done?
A. That depends on the size of the job. However, most residential work can be completed on the same day as scheduled.
Q. How long does the work take?
A. That depends on the size of the job. However, most residential work can be completed on the day scheduled. Timing and finishing is always dependent upon the weather.
Q. How big are the holes?
A. The holes that are drilled are approximately 1 5/8” in diameter (about the size of a golf ball).
Q. What will you do with the holes once you are done?
A. The holes are patched with a concrete patch.
Q. Will I notice the holes?
A. The drill holes are noticeable because we are putting fresh concrete on aged concrete. In time, however, the holes will begin to blend with the existing concrete.
Q. What type of material is used?
A. We use a clay, sand, and cement grout mixture blended with water to get the right consistency.
Q. Will this process work on my asphalt/blacktop driveway?
A. No. Asphalt is a product that will crack and crumble if we try to raise it.
Q. What will happen to the existing cracks in my slab(s)?
A. Unfortunately, the cracks will still exist. In addition, Lifting Level Concrete Solutions does not fill or patch concrete cracks. That is the owner’s responsibility and a part of our warranty agreement.
Q. How long will the area that is raised be out of service?
A. Most areas can be used right after we finish. However, driveways and garages must not be used for 24 to 48 hours.
